CDL Training in Newton, NC

TransTech has some great people on their team. Everyone I met was positive, supportive, and clearly invested in student success. That said, there’s definitely room to improve or implement certain policies and procedures to ensure better alignment between trainers and trainees. Still, the class itself was informative and worthwhile.

For future students:
Be sure to have all your curriculum materials, permit, and DOT physical completed before training begins. If you’re missing any of these, it can set you back and make the process more difficult.

Not many places can get you CDL-certified in just four weeks like TransTech did for me. Overall, I’m satisfied with the training experience.

If your looking for a cdl go with trans tech they will get you in quickly and give you the training you need to get on the road asap I definitely recommend them

They make sure you feel confident and prepared, and they’re always willing to work one-on-one with you if you need extra help. I successfully completed my CDL B training last week in Newton, NC and my views are specific to this location.

Staff/Instructor - 5 stars
Instructor Steven is the best! He knows his stuff and is able to communicate effectively. Loved having him as a teacher!!
Sue in the Admin Ofc was helpful and it was most appreciated.

Facilities/Equipment - 2.5 stars
OMG - the classroom trailer has 2 restrooms and are NOT cleaned daily! When someone "blew up" one of the toilets (you know what I mean), it wasn't cleaned for 2 days. Nasty!

I trained on the school bus for P endorsement - minimal heat on the rig (temps were in the teens), tach and speedo broken, and unable to practice or test merging onto I-40 due to it's severely limited speed capability. (basically unsafe to do so)

Two other students in CDL B class not getting P endorsement trained on a single axle bobtail, NOT the box truck they were promised. Bobtail rig had great heat, but the rear tires weren't anywhere close to being at least 2/32" tread depth and we were glad not to be observing/driving in rainy conditions. Interior of truck was littered with trash. (Let's just say cleanliness is not a priority in the building or the rigs as far as I can tell.)

Listen, I know, it's a truck school, it's not supposed to be pristine, but really?! Basic bathroom cleaning daily in the building would be nice, and perhaps weekly clean out of rigs??

I just received my CDL from Trans Tech Newton NC. My instructor Steven Conley was awesome! He is very patient and knowledgeable. The rest of the employees I came into contact with were also very friendly. The only bad thing I can say about this place as that the Trucks and Bus that they used to train us on could really use some Love ( Driver seats broken no heat tires bald, Speedometer broken ). The reason I bring this up is once we leave the yard with that truck or bus if you get pulled over for any reason the ticket is on you and your DAC report. Also I wish they taught us to How to actually check some of the things that we are learning about during the pre trip

School was very thorough, the instructors are top tier, the equipment had some issues, but they managed to get everything sorted out, and did a great job.

My class b instructor was absolutely amazing (Steven ) really knows his stuff and makes sure everyone understands clearly before moving on and make sure you get help with all you need help with. Thank you so much Steven for being such a great instructor!!

All the instructors were great, and very helpful. I appreciate everyone who helped me.

Received great training! The instructors were great and made training fun as well as helped us pass the exam! Robert, Chris and The Chad were all awesome! My only complaint would be some of the trucks don’t have air conditioner which is rough in July when it’s 100 degrees. I enjoyed my time here.
