TransTech/A-B Tech Partnership Holding CDL Training Orientations
Partnership Expands Truck Driver Training Opportunities

TransTech and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (A-B Tech) students can learn what it means to become a truck driver through their CDL training program partnership.
A-B Tech students can take TransTech’s five-week CDL training program, with daytime, evening, and weekend options. Classes start every two weeks. The schools are hosting a series of informational orientations to help students get to know the campus, programs, and what they have ahead of them as CDL students. The orientation sessions meet at the Ferguson Center for Allied Health and Workforce Development on the A-B Tech campus in Asheville (Ferguson Center for Allied Health and Workforce Development). Orientations discuss TransTech’s CDL training programs, and requirements for the program. Sessions are open to prospective students and their families.
The orientations will be held every other week at either 2 pm or 6 pm.

Applicants must:
- Be 18 years old, or 21 for interstate commerce or hazardous materials trucking
- Bring a valid NC driver’s license and Social Security card
With a low instructor-to-student ratio, students get additional personalized attention from instructors. Programs cover the knowledge and skills needed to earn a Class A CDL and begin a rewarding. successful career as a professional truck driver.
