Tuition Assistance at TransTech
TUITION ASSISTANCE, GRANTS, AND PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL
More people than ever are beginning new careers in the commercial transportation industry. Some do it because they seek a more consistent paycheck, greater earning potential, and excellent benefits. Others are doing it because they want a new career, a chance to travel or to own their own business. Whatever your reason is, TransTech can help you begin your new career as a professional truck driver.
At TransTech, many of our students pay for their training before they get started, so we offer a cash discount. However, we also recognize that not everyone can pay upfront for their Class A or Class B CDL training. That’s why we have various financing options that can help almost everyone get started! We have traditional financing options, State-supported CDL training grants, tuition reimbursement, and even carrier sponsorship programs.
Traditional Financing:
We have a variety of loan programs that are available regardless of credit. For many, you can get started with as little as $1,000 down and affordable monthly payments that begin when your training is completed. And most over-the-road companies offer tuition reimbursement to help students recover their investment in training.
Carrier Sponsorship:
Some of our partner carriers will sponsor your entire CDL training program in exchange for joining their company for several months after you graduate.
NC 529 Plan:
Many families begin saving for future education by starting NC 529 savings accounts early on. Students frequently use those funds to cover the costs of training.
Other Funding Options:
TransTech works with numerous North Carolina banks, agencies, and community colleges, including Social Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, TAP, DARS, and other private and public sources. We assist all students with creating a customized financial plan that works for them and always looks for free or low-cost options first. Students always have the opportunity to pay “out-of-pocket” via cash or card.
Workforce Funding (WIOA):
We are an approved provider for NCWorks, the Workforce Program that offers training resources for those who qualify. If you have been laid off or receiving unemployment or SNAP benefits, you may be eligible for a grant to pay tuition. Contact our Admissions team to point you in the right direction.
