CLASS A CDL Program AT TRANSTECH
Truck Driver Training in North Carolina
The Commercial Truck Driving Program offered by TransTech equips students with the skills needed for entry-level positions as certified CDL drivers, whether for over-the-road or local driving roles. This comprehensive CDL program is designed to prepare students for entry-level opportunities in the thriving truck driving industry. Previous education or experience with commercial trucks is not necessary. However, prospective students must meet the driver qualifications outlined by the FMCSA and the ELDT Mandate. Additionally, successful completion of the physical examination requirements mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) is essential.
- Location: 9 locations across North Carolina
- Duration: 4 weeks (full-time), 8 weekends (part-time)
- Schedule: Our Commercial Truck Driving Program offers flexible options, including weekday and weekend classes.
- Requirements: To enroll, students must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years old (21 for operations in interstate commerce or hazardous material endorsement.
- Upon Completion: Students will undergo their CDL exam on-site, facilitated by an approved tester.
Class A CDL CURRICULUM
TransTech’s Commercial Truck Driving Program is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge required to successfully pass the CDL test. The curriculum begins with classroom sessions covering CDL permit test preparation, introduction to logbooks, route planning, and pre-trip inspections. Subsequently, students practice mandatory driving maneuvers on the range. The final phase involves on-the-road training, where students learn shifting techniques and proper lane control and hone the competencies necessary for a successful driving portion of the CDL test.
