TransTech’s Upstate South Carolina campus is located off Highway 25 in Greer, positioned between Greenville and Spartanburg in the heart of one of the Southeast’s most active manufacturing and logistics corridors. The campus serves students from across the Upstate region including Spartanburg, Greenville, Greer, Duncan, Boiling Springs, Inman, and Woodruff.
Our Class A CDL program is built around getting students road-ready. You will spend time in the classroom covering air brakes, logbooks, hazardous materials, and defensive driving before moving to the range for pre-trip inspection and backing practice. On-road training puts everything together. TransTech will help you schedule your CDL skills test at the SCDMV. The program is ELDT compliant and completable in as little as four weeks. No experience necessary.
Class B CDL training is offered at this location for students pursuing careers in straight truck, delivery, dump truck, construction, or waste and recycling. For those interested in bus driving, this campus also offers Class B training with a Passenger endorsement. The Upstate’s strong industrial and municipal employment base keeps Class B demand steady year-round.

The Greenville-Spartanburg corridor, often referred to as the GSP or Upstate region, is one of the most logistics-intensive markets in the Southeast. BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg alone receives approximately 1,300 truckloads of parts daily, and the plant’s supplier network spans more than 250 automotive companies throughout the Upstate. Beyond BMW, the region is home to Michelin’s North American headquarters, ZF Transmissions, GE, and a rapidly expanding base of distribution and e-commerce facilities. The SC Inland Port in Greer connects the region directly to the Port of Charleston by rail, adding another layer of freight activity for CDL drivers in the area. I-85, the primary freight corridor through the region, links Spartanburg and Greenville to Charlotte to the north and Atlanta to the south.
The GSP market has consistent openings across automotive supply chain hauling, regional freight, local delivery, and OTR routes. Carriers including Stevens Transport, Schneider National, Werner Enterprises, and TMC Transportation recruit from the region, alongside a strong base of local and regional operators tied to the automotive supply chain. TransTech’s job placement program connects graduates with carriers hiring across all route types.

This location offers Class A and Class B CDL training, including Class B with a Passenger endorsement for students pursuing bus driving careers. Both programs are ELDT compliant and approved by the State of South Carolina.
Students must be at least 18 years old (21 for interstate commerce or hazardous materials), hold a valid South Carolina driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and pass a DOT physical and drug screen. Your license cannot be suspended, disqualified, or revoked, and you cannot hold more than one driver’s license.
No prior commercial driving experience is required. The program is designed to take students from zero to road-ready in four weeks.
