Very good instructors and staff very knowledgeable and teachable made me feel like family I would recommend them to anyone looking for a training program for class A or Class B

I successfully completed my CDL B training last week in Newton, NC and my views are specific to this location.Staff/Instructor - 5 starsInstructor Steven is the best! He knows his stuff and is able to communicate effectively. Loved having him as a teacher!!Sue in the Admin Ofc was helpful and it was most appreciated.Facilities/Equipment - 2.5 starsOMG - the classroom trailer has 2 restrooms and are NOT cleaned daily! When someone "blew up" one of the toilets (you know what I mean), it wasn't cleaned for 2 days. Nasty!I trained on the school bus for P endorsement - minimal heat on the rig (temps were in the teens), tach and speedo broken, and unable to practice or test merging onto I-40 due to it's severely limited speed capability. (basically unsafe to do so)Two other students in CDL B class not getting P endorsement trained on a single axle bobtail, NOT the box truck they were promised. Bobtail rig had great heat, but the rear tires weren't anywhere close to being at least 2/32" tread depth and we were glad not to be observing/driving in rainy conditions. Interior of truck was littered with trash. (Let's just say cleanliness is not a priority in the building or the rigs as far as I can tell.)Listen, I know, it's a truck school, it's not supposed to be pristine, but really?! Basic bathroom cleaning daily in the building would be nice, and perhaps weekly clean out of rigs??

I just received my CDL from Trans Tech Newton NC. My instructor Steven Conley was awesome! He is very patient and knowledgeable. The rest of the employees I came into contact with were also very friendly. The only bad thing I can say about this place as that the Trucks and Bus that they used to train us on could really use some Love ( Driver seats broken no heat tires bald, Speedometer broken ). The reason I bring this up is once we leave the yard with that truck or bus if you get pulled over for any reason the ticket is on you and your DAC report. Also I wish they taught us to How to actually check some of the things that we are learning about during the pre trip

This place did very well to help me get my CDLs. They trained me to be a confident and reliable driver on the road. I hope they continue the good efforts in training over future drivers.

Wanted to give a shoutout to Pork Chop. Thanks for coming down to the Gastonia location and giving us some of your knowledge. I really appreciate the advice on downshifting. Also thanks for the laughs. Made my time in school enjoyable.TMC bound!!!!

School was very thorough, the instructors are top tier, the equipment had some issues, but they managed to get everything sorted out, and did a great job.

My class b instructor was absolutely amazing (Steven ) really knows his stuff and makes sure everyone understands clearly before moving on and make sure you get help with all you need help with. Thank you so much Steven for being such a great instructor!!

Received great training! The instructors were great and made training fun as well as helped us pass the exam! Robert, Chris and The Chad were all awesome! My only complaint would be some of the trucks don’t have air conditioner which is rough in July when it’s 100 degrees. I enjoyed my time here.-Brett Noles

Great instructors, site manager and front office. Got my CDLs but a little disappointed I didn’t get a cb handle, that must be postgrad education.

5 stars!Transtech has been great! The instructors wants you to pass. Just listen and follow instructions and you'll do great. Keep asking questions because this is your chance to learn about trucking from the experts. Always ask questions when you're stuck. Don't be afraid of making mistakes! That's why you're here. Instructor, Pork Chop, Phillip is the MVP. He'll get you strait.FYI, don't adjust your seats too high because if you hit a pothole, you'll jump like Mario. There is a ton of knowledge and experience at this school/site. The instructors will work with you on areas you need improvement on before test day. They do their best to make sure you are prepared for your exam. Recommended.

Everything was great from start with Jeb. Phil, Chad, Chris and all instructors were great! Examiner was great also.

I attended trans tech from 6/10/24-6/27/24. This was an outstanding school. From the start Miss Sue at the front was very organized and responsive to questions. Jeb made the sign up process very easy and explained everything. The instructors were phenomenal. They were very knowledgeable, allowed you to make mistakes safely to learn, and kept the environment upbeat. I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

I personally had a great experience. I chose the weekend classes, and I got done with it in 6 weekends. I do know that some other students do have problems with the instructors not getting there time in within the 6 weekends. They then had to do another weekend, but I didn't have that problem. I had a great experience.
